Description

The IS200EPSMG1A is an Exciter Power Supply Module manufactured by GE for their Mark VI series. The MKVI is part of the Speedtronic line of gas/steam turbine management system that has been in production by GE since the release of the MKI in 1969.The MKVI includes a PC-based operator interface, or HMI, which communicates with the main processor card in the Control Module using Ethernet connections. The operator interface allows for viewing of all analog and digital data from one location, including time tags for events and alarms. The function of the IS200EPSMG1A is to convert 125 VDC from the EPDM into voltages required by the control system. This includes +5 VDC, +/-15 VDC, and +24 VDC. The IS200EPSMG1Ais built with a front panel that includes seven LED lights. These lights are labeled P5, P15, N15, P24A, P24B, N24B, and P70.The front panel also includes the GE logo and the board identification number. The IS200EPSMG1A is built with several large components. This includes a transformer in a frame and a large inductor marked Bicron B9309 0912.There is also another smaller inductor coil (L2.) The board has five transistors fitted with heat sinks. These are located directly behind the front panel. The board has an additional four heat sink elements mounted to its surface. The IS200EPSMG1A uses both high voltage electrolytic capacitors and axial electrolytic capacitors.A single disk capacitor is located in the upper right corner of the board. Other capacitors are also located on the board. The board uses both metal film and carbon composite resistors. Nine fuses are located on the board surface. Most of these are located in the left top quadrant, but fuse seven is located on the right side of the board. The board also includes several integrated circuits, TP test points, and two backplane connectors.
