The GE Regulator Board DS3800DFCD features 17 single-pin connectors and 3 potentiometers for adjusting the amperage. The GE Regulator Board DS3800DFCD also is populated with 4 jumpers and multiple test points.

The potentiometers and other components on the board are susceptible to harm from over temperature conditions. If the board is over heated, it might process at reduced performance or provide irregular results. Over temperature conditions might also lead the board to fail sooner than expected. Automatic safety features of the drive are trip conditions. If the drive interior is over temperature, or the drive is exposed to an overcurrent condition, or if a motor overload condition occurs, the drive automatically shuts down. This protects the drive from damage. The condition is recorded and if you run the diagnostic tools for the drive, the trip condition will appear on the report of all errors, warnings, and trip conditions.

Once a trip condition occurs the only recourse available to you is to restart the drive. This can be an expensive condition because of the loss productivity and service expense. To avoid that, plan where you install the drive to maximize the exposure of the drive to cool and clean air.

The drive needs space around it for air to move freely. Also other drives and devices are often nearby that generate heat. The space allows the heat to dissipate and keep the drive cool. If the drive is mounted on a wall, first check to make sure the wall is cool. Other devices in the room behind the wall might generate heat.
